Bradley Win Under WBO Scrutiny

The World Boxing Organization or the WBO will review the controversial victory of Timothy Bradley in the Welterweight Championship match against Manny Pacquiao recently, according to a statement issued by the governing body of world boxing. The American won the match against The Filipino Bomber via a split decision in the match at the MGM Grand Garden at Las Vegas, Nevada in the United States of America and as soon as the result was declared, there were jeers from all sections of the crowd which had seen Pacquiao completely dominate Timothy Bradley in the 12 rounds of the match.

And Bob Arum, who is the promoter of both the boxers was visibly upset and outraged at the decision and in the post match media conference, he completely lambasted the judges for making such a call, and has since been in contact with the attorney general of Nevada, asking him for an investigation of the outcome of the match.

According to the president of the WBO, the championship committee of the organization will meet with five internationally recognized judges who will review the footage of the match and pass judgment and that judgment will be accepted by the WBO as the final outcome. He also added that the championship committee will make the decision as per the rules of the game and there is no room for errors.

Two of the three judges who were calling the match scored Timothy Bradley 115-113 and the other judge scored 115-113 in the favor o the overwhelming favorite Filipino and although the judgment caused major furor among the audience, the WBO has not stated anything to question the liability of the judges who called the match.

A decision of the review panel is expected to be announced by the WBO in the coming weeks. Amir Khan had a similar panel decision against him, and will be watching with interest.
